Happy Beltane (also known as May Day) - we are halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice! ☀️
Traditionally this day has been celebrated to welcome fertility, flowering, abundance and the alignment of male and female energies. If you set an intention at the beginning of the year, then planted the seeds for it around the Spring Equinox, now is the time to take action so that your vision can fully blossom into reality!
Some ways to celebrate this weekend:
BLOSSOM & BLOOM. Gift yourself or a friend with flowers, deliver a bouquet to a friend in need or to a local nursing home or make a floral mandala with collected fallen blooms.
FIRE POWER. Get lit! Gaze upon the flame of a candle or gather around a fire pit. Check out this post about working with fire element for more ideas!
HERBAL INDULGENCE. Make lavender or rose lemonade or tea, add fresh thyme or basil to your food, cleanse your space with sage or rosemary.
CLEANSE. You know I’m all about a ritual bath! Add Epsom and pink salts, some feminine floral-inspired essential oils like gardenia, jasmine, ylang ylang, lavender and magnolia, rose quartz tumbles and flower petals for a celebratory self-care session.
NATURE. Enjoy nature by taking a mindful walk and noticing all of the sights and sounds - birds chirping, bunnies bouncing.
CELEBRATE. Harness the good vibes of this time of year by cooking a beautiful meal, picnicking in the park, or singing or dancing with friends.
CRYSTAL MAGIC. Work with crystals that will help support and amplify the energies you're working with - such as amazonite to help balance masculine and feminine energies or fire quartz to add a boost of clarity and energy to your action steps.
Top L to R: fire quartz, blue apatite, amber, snowflake obsidian, emerald, rainbow fluorite, amazonite, carnelian, charoite, opalite, moss agate, Tiger Eye
Which of these crystals is calling most loudly to you? Comment your fave and I will suggest a customized Beltane ritual for you!
Happy Summer Solstice! The longest & brightest day of the year has been observed across all societies and cultures from Egyptian to English to Aztec as a a celebration of light, joy and illumination.
With so much darkness and heaviness in the world lately, now seems like a perfect time to Lighten Up!
Working with the moon phases is an accessible way to deepen our connection both to nature and to ourselves. I find that honoring these rhythms of nature can make it easier to identify, recognize and honor our own natural ebbs and flows.
During the new moon cycle, the sun and moon align with each other, merging yang energy - the heating, masculine, assertive energy of the sun, with yin energy - the cooling, feminine, receptive energy of the moon. The balancing of these two polar opposite energies in the dark sky creates a powerful invitation to both let go and start new - it's the perfect canvas for a fresh start.
