4 Ways To Boost Immunity Naturally

Sharing some of my longest-standing immunity-boosting practices today for Self-Care Sunday and I’m really interested to hear yours!

 Do you have a tried and true treatment to help boost immunity or feel better faster?

 🍊OnGuard, Thieves or homemade essential oil blend of clove, rosemary, cinnamon, eucalyptus and lemon and/or orange. I put about 4 drops into a 2 oz glass sprayer and mist directly into my mouth in the morning and before bed (more often if I’m feeling rundown or scratchy). I’ve been doing this every day since 2010 and ::knock wood:: can name the two times I’ve been sick within that time frame. If I am feeling a bit bleh, I will add 1-2 drops into my detox bath. A little goes a loooooong way and any more can be really intense on the skin (feels like burning), but this has been effective for me in knocking out whatever germy yuckiness is brewing in me or my kids. You can also apply directly to the soles of the feet before bed (sleep with socks on) or sprinkle on the shower floor and then steam while bathing. {I am not affiliated with DoTerra or Young Living in any way, shape or form, I just do love and swear by these 2 blends!}. 

 🔥Fire Cider - this stuff is crazy hot n spicy but legit! As mentioned, I rarely get sick but I woke up one July morning a few years ago with fever, chills, sore throat - full monty. This happened to be the day of the bucket list Metallica concert I had been looking forward to for five months so I was desperate not to miss it. I took 2 huge shots of fire cider and it knocked the funk out completely, I fully recovered and ended up not getting sick that day, that night or ever. I make sure to have a few travel size bottles of this with me when I travel.

 🌻EFT or Emotional Freedom Tapping. Gently tapping or thumping the thymus gland, located behind the sternum in between the lungs, can help boost immunity and release the body’s production of white blood cells. Stimulate your thymus by gently thumping the hollow of the breastbone with the index and middle fingers 10 times.

 🌿 Oil of Oregano has powerful antioxidant properties and is regularly used in the treatment of fever and respiratory illness. I put a drop on my my toothbrush every morning. This is a POTENT and strong oil, again a little goes a long way. It’s not necessarily pleasant but in my experience, it has been effective. This can also be taken in gel capsule form if the oil is too pungent - I will admit it’s not something I look forward to first thing in the am but it works!
