10 Detox Tips to Get You Glowing This Fall

10 Detox Tips to Get You Glowing This Fall

by Andrea Pacini September 26, 2021

Fall is an optimal time to remove impurities and cleanse the system as the changing seasons provide the perfect canvas for an energetic reset. I’ve been on a quest to reclaim my vitality over the past year and a half and these are my favorite Detox Hacks I’ve found so far!

Detox Hack #1

Nikki Sharp’s 5-day real food detox. This program is a game-changer. I’ve done TONS of diet programs and this one blows them all away. This is a 5-day vegetarian program designed to give our systems a rest from processed food and chemicals. I’ve done this program regularly since I discovered it in 2018 and I’m always surprised by how fast my body can change in just 5 days. My fasting blood sugar dropped 13 points the first time I did it, my sleep and digestion greatly improved, my skin was so much bouncier and firmer and I lost 6 pounds! The best part about this plan is the food is delicious, colorful, easy to prepare and I never feel deprived because I’m eating 5 times a day. If you’re looking to feel better, boost your health and energy, eliminate cravings and maybe drop a few pounds, this is the plan that I recommend and vouch for 1000%.

Detox Hack #2

Triphala. Triphala is a staple in Ayurvedic medicine. This blend of three ancient herbs has natural anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties that assists with gentle internal cleansing. It even helps improve vision, dental issues and encourages hair growth! There’s a saying in India – “No mother? Do not worry as long as you have triphala.”

Detox Hack #3

You know I love a salt bath! Salt baths help relieve sore muscles, re-mineralize the body, draw out toxins, kill bacteria, reduce inflammation, aid with digestion and weight loss and balance pH. This is the tried & true detox bath recipe that I've been using since 2011, feel free to modify the recipe to suit your needs. Add these ingredients to hot water and try to soak for 20-40 minutes. This ritual provides a much-needed energetic reset, mental and physical time-out and significantly increases feelings of peace and well-being. The salt helps clear the subtle body, which lightens energy, cleanses the aura and raises your vibration.

Detox Hack #4

Ozone Saunas. I can’t recommend the ozone sauna highly enough! It looks like a little mini sweat lodge – my body is enclosed in a box with just my head sticking out. The benefits of this treatment are incredible – it oxidizes toxins so they can be eliminated through the skin, lungs, kidneys and colon, boosts blood circulation, accelerates the healing process, eliminates bacterial and viral infections and enhances metabolic processes of the inner organs and endocrine glands resulting in a loss of 400-600 calories in a 30 minute session! They can be hard to find, if you don’t have this option close to you, an infrared sauna offers similar benefits.

Detox Hack #5

Parasite cleanse. We de-worm our pets regularly, why don’t we de-worm ourselves? An estimated 3.5 billion people worldwide suffer from significant parasitic infections every year. Parasitic infestation can lead to a host of unpleasant health issues such as brain fog, weight gain, bloating, allergies, skin rashes, irregular sleep patterns and joint pain. I’m three weeks in to Zuma’s 30-day parasite detox and am loving the results. I’m combining it with the liver detox tonic and ocean minerals fulvic acid tonic to assist with binding toxins that are released. I’ve noticed a HUGE increase in energy, mental clarity, decreased bloating and reduction of food cravings. I went to Cheesecake Factory last night and passed up my favorite pumpkin pie cheesecake which is completely unheard of for me! My skin looks more clear and radiant as well. (This is not a paid or sponsored post, all observations are authentically based on my own experience using products I personally purchased.)

Detox Hack #6

Cupping. When blood does not circulate properly, impurities such as toxins and dead cell debris build up inside the body. Cupping can help remove these impurities. As suction is created between the cup and skin tissue, the impurities inside the inner layer of tissue and muscle are pulled outward. As the impurities accumulate underneath the skin, fresh blood and lymph rush to the area and bring nutrients and oxygen to the affected site. This process heals damaged cells while the blood and lymph sweep toxins to the skin, kidneys, liver, intestines, and lungs to be expelled naturally. I use these plastic cups with this massage oil to cup at home. And bonus, cupping helps sculpt the face too - I use these facial cups with homemade frankincense, rose and geranium oil.

Detox Hack #7

Massage. Massage increases the circulation of blood and lymph, helping the body flush toxins more quickly. If you don’t have access to a professional spa, you can perform self-massage at home. Read more about that in this post.

Detox Hack #8

Breathwork. Since the lymph system doesn’t have a pump, breath can be manipulated to stimulate toxin removal. Pretty cool, right? In fact, up to 70% of toxins in the body are removed via the lungs. Most people only use 20% of their lung capacity on a daily basis while stagnant energy and bacteria accumulate in the lower lungs. A consistent breathwork practice can really enhance your health and vitality. Read more in this post here or check out my breathwork teacher’s next event!

Detox Hack #9

Rebounding. If you’re feeling especially tired, swollen or have super painful PMS symptoms and periods, chances are your qi (pronounced chee), or life force energy, has grown stagnant. Just like standing water gathers filmy grime, bugs and toxic algae, too much stagnant fluid can also accumulate in the body and lead to a number of health issues – from decreased metabolism, circulation and digestive function to serious dis-ease. Just a few minutes of bouncing on a trampoline can work wonders to active the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This movement stimulates the transport of lymphatic fluid and accelerates the filtering processes of bacteria, viruses and metabolic products. Just seven minutes a day helps to stimulate lymph removal and increase immunity. I have and love this affordable option!

Detox #10

Kitchari cleanse. I'm a big fan of the Ayurvedic Kitchari cleanse, it’s a monofast – meaning you eat the same thing for all meals. This allows the body to regulate digestion, heal inflammation and more efficiently remove toxins from the mind and tissues. To read more about kitchari, check out this post. If you’re looking for a major detox and health boost, I recommend 3 days of Nikki Sharp’s detox, then 3 days of kitchari, followed by another 3 days of Nikki’s detox. This is a phenomenal reset and I promise you will feel like a new (slimmer, healthier and more vibrant) person!

Honorable Mentions:

  • I use this tongue scraper every morning. While we sleep, our body emits toxins through our tongue. This practice removes these toxins and other bacteria so they're not reabsorbed into the bloodstream.
  • I know the science on this is vague and it’s not for everyone, but I really love my ionic foot detox bath. I’ve been doing them since 2011 and finally bought my own this year so I can enjoy it on a weekly basis.
  • Colon Hydrotherapy. Again, this is definitely not for everyone and I totally get that! But regular colonics have been a 20-year health maintenance staple for me and I can’t say enough good things about them. Energetically, I feel lighter – mentally, I feel clearer and physically, I feel more vibrant. I’ve had this treatment at several different offices over the years and I’ve never had a bad experience, thankfully. If you’re interested in more info, send me an email at starlight@gmail.com or message me on Instagram.
  • CCF tea is also a helpful detox aid and is especially potent when used in conjunction with the kitchari cleanse.
  • Bloodstone, amethyst, smoky quartz and charoite crystals will also assist with and amplify detoxification.
  • I use this dry brush every day before showering to stimulate lymph and exfoliate the skin.

Have you been called to detox lately? What are your favorite ways to refresh and reset?

  • Gather your supplies. You'll need a large bowl filled halfway with water and 4-12 de-stemmed blooms of your favorite flower(s). Notes: Roses are said to have the highest vibration of any flower.
  • Find a comfortable seat on the ground on a yoga mat or cushion - either inside or outside. You may want to place a rolled blanket underneath your sits bones to help support you and keep your pelvic bowl and spine in alignment. Arrange your supplies as desired around your space with the bowl of water directly in front of you.

The Energetics of Chasing

⁣Whether it’s love, good health, a solid relationship, serenity, freedom, a title, respect, or a certain number in the bank or on the scale - anything you chase will always be outside of you. ⁣

Apart from you. ⁣
A Perpetual Separation.⁣

The energy of chasing by nature keeps you in pursuit and the desired "thing" running away from you. This creates more resistance & frustration and actually widens the gap between you and what you want.
